The Library is Green?

I have been reading a great deal the last few months about how important energy conservation is and how we will have to plan for becoming even more efficient in the future.

In a conversation with one of our staff members a few weeks ago, she expressed how green the public library actually is.

We are an institution which is set up to help share resources. Books, newspapers and magazines are shared among the many making a smaller tax on our natural resources.

I had not thought of our libraries in that way before.

We look around the library all the time trying to find ways to make our energy usage more efficient, or more to the point, lowering our heating and electric bills.

As a place which shares resources and organizes information in a way which cuts down on the time it takes to find answers, we really are involved with conservation activities.
